The Pattaya Night Bazaar, which is also called the “Made in Thailand” market, is a great place to shop in the middle of Pattaya. This night market is not like others that are outside. It is inside a big building that looks like a warehouse and has more than 250 stalls and shops. The market is known for having a lot of different locally made handicrafts, souvenirs, clothes, and accessories, all at prices that are easy on the wallet. It draws in both Thai locals and tourists from other countries because of its lively atmosphere, easy access, and cheap shopping.
Location & Directions
The Pattaya Night Bazaar is across the street from Central Festival Pattaya Beach, the city’s biggest mall, and is only a short walk from Pattaya Beach. Because it is in the middle of everything, it is easy to combine a shopping trip with seeing nearby sights.
- On a motorbike: Renting a motorbike is a cheap and easy way to get to the bazaar. It only takes about six minutes to get there from the city centre.
- By taxi or Grab: This is the quickest way to get there, and the price varies from 170 to 180 Baht depending on the time of day. To get cheaper rides, don’t go during rush hour.
- Walking: The bazaar is close enough to Pattaya Beach or Central Festival that you can walk there.
Timings
Usually opens from 11:00 AM to Midnight. The best time to go is in the afternoon, around 3:00 to 4:00 PM, when all the stalls are fully stocked with all sizes and colours.
Things to Buy
There are a lot of cheap things to buy at the market, but here are some of the best things to get at Pattaya Night Bazaar:
- Local Handicrafts: This market is called the “Made in Thailand” market because 90% of the things sold here are made in Thailand. Chut Thai (traditional Thai costumes), Benjarong ceramics, Buddha statues, embroidered purses and fridge magnets are all popular items that make great gifts or souvenirs.
- Clothing: One of the best parts is that visitors can buy t-shirts, lounge pants, shorts, jeans and comfortable beachwear at low prices. A t-shirt might cost 100 Baht, but if you buy three, it might only cost 200 Baht.
- Accessories: You can find a wide range of trendy and affordable sunglasses, hats, scarves, shoes, and costume jewellery.
- Travel Essentials: You can find bags, backpacks, and luggage at good prices, which is great for tourists who need more room for their shopping.
