Museum Siam is located on Sanam Chai Road, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang Subdistrict. Specifically, it was established in 2007 in the building of the Ministry of Commerce. This Museum was created to teach the history of the Thai people and their relationship with neighboring countries. Moreover, Museum Siam is under the National Discovery Museum Institute (NDMI). Ultimately, it was established as a learning museum to raise the standard of learning for Thai kids and youth and increase their knowledge about themselves. It is also creating new and modern image using the technology and fun activities to make learning about history more enjoyable
One of the major displays is of the “Decoding Thainess” which helps the tourist understand about the Thai identity and culture. The exhibition has 14 rooms and uses modern technology and interactive storytelling to make the learning more fun and interactive throughout the visit. There are also changing (rotating) exhibitions and creative learning activities so visitors are learning every time they come.
Entrance Fee
Museum Siam in Bangkok charges an entrance fee of 100 THB for adults, 50 THB for children, and offers free entry for seniors over 60 and children under 15. Operating hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The museum is conveniently located near Sanam Chai MRT Station.

Museum Siam is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It remains closed on Mondays. Try visiting before 5:00 PM to enjoy the full experience without rush, as ticket counters usually stop issuing entry 30 minutes before closing.
Direction
Museum Siam is located at 4 Sanam Chai Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, right next to Sanam Chai MRT Station (Exit 1). The easiest way to reach is by MRT Blue Line. The station exit leads directly to the museum. It’s also walkable from attractions like Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. And you can exit through the front of the building.

- Before entering the museum show the ticket to the staff present in the entrance of the museum
- Shoes must be opened before entering the museum
- Bags must be kept in the locker area
- Selfies, flash , video recording are not allowed inside the museum
- Smoking is not allowed inside the museum
- You should dress modestly. Sleeveless shorts and shirts are usually prohibited. Women should make sure that their skirts extends below their knee

History
The Ministry of Commerce building was completed in 1922. It initially served as the office for the Ministry. After the change in the Government structure, it was changed to the Ministry of Transport. But in 1972 it was again changed to the Ministry of Commerce. But in 1999 the Ministry of Commerce building was moved to the Sanam Bun Nam Located at Bangkasor
In 2005, the building was registered under the Fine Arts Department as one of the heritage sites. Subsequently, between 2005 and 2007, the National Discovery Museum Institute (NDMI) undertook the project and developed the learning museum. Finally, on December 23, 2007, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn inaugurated the opening ceremony of the Museum Siam building.
