Mini Siam is quite possibly one of the most unique sights in Pattaya and guarantees that you can travel around the world in a few hours. But the architecture and history lovers is this miniature park on Sukhumvit Road, roughly 143 kilometers (89 miles) from Bangkok. Established in 1986, Mini Siam has around 100 miniature replicas of Thailand’s and the world’s best known landmarks. The park has two main zones Mini Siam, with Thailand’s most famous landmarks, and Mini Europe where tourists can view monuments like the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House and the Statue of Liberty.

History of Mini Siam

Mini Siam is the creation of Kasem Kasemkietsakul, a Thai man who is interested in art and architecture. After visiting other miniature parks, in the Netherlands and Taiwan, he understood that some people may never have the opportunity to visit any of the world’s most prominent landmarks during their lifetime. His solution was to have those landmarks in a single location. A park where both Thai and international tourists could view world famous attractions without leaving Pattaya.

Construction started in 1985 and it is the first Democracy Monument established in Bangkok. Five years of work and it was opened in 1986. It began as a school project but has turned into one of Pattaya’s hot attractions. The park not only entertains, but it helps visitors learn and remember aspects of history and culture regardless of their age.
