Learning & Development · Bangalore Office · 2 Positions Open
Department: Learning & Development (L&D)
Location: Bangalore, India
Reports To: Head of L&D
Role Type: Full-Time · Individual Contributor
Salary (CTC): ₹6 – 10 LPA
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are hiring two Corporate Trainers to empower our agents and teams to deliver exceptional, zero-error travel experiences. You will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive training programmes that cover the entire booking journey, from initial enquiry through to post-trip support.
This role uniquely combines system and tool proficiency, deep destination knowledge, and advanced sales and soft-skills training. You will ensure that our Sales Experts and Operations teams are fully equipped to handle the end-to-end lifecycle of FIT, MICE, and Group bookings, with a focus on sales excellence, product mastery, and operational precision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales & Soft Skills Training (Enquiry to Confirmation): You will conduct comprehensive training on the Trip factory sales framework, covering enquiry handling, tour recommendation, quoting, negotiation, and closing the sale. Enhancing the communication and interpersonal effectiveness of agents is a core objective; you will run role-plays, workshops, and coaching sessions to sharpen presentation, objection handling, and conversion skills. You will also train agents on responding to B2C and B2B leads within SLA, identifying client needs, dietary, accessibility, and visa requirements — upfront, logging every detail accurately in the CRM, and upselling premium hotels, upgrades, and experiences to maximise margins without eroding value.
- Product & Destination Mastery (Component Booking): Building strong destination knowledge across teams is a primary objective. You will deliver training on global destinations, itineraries, and products spanning FIT, MICE, and Groups, covering hotels, experiences, logistics, and key selling points. You are expected to stay current with new products, market trends, and competitor offerings, translating these into engaging destination decks and guides. You will also train teams on the nuances of component booking, ensuring agents understand how to cross-check availability, book the correct room types and meal plans, coordinate ground transfers, and arrange tours, guides, and experiences with precision.
- Systems, Tools & Operations (Zero-Error Accountability): Enabling teams to effectively use internal systems, booking portals, and CRM tools for day-to-day operations falls squarely within your remit. You will create, maintain, and train staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and user guides, ensuring strict adherence to the 7-phase booking journey. This includes training agents on operational workflows for initiating flight requests with the internal flights team, tracking visa applications with external partners, compiling complete travel document packs, verifying supplier confirmations against every booking detail, and conducting thorough pre-departure briefings with clients and trade agents.
- Performance Coaching & Continuous Improvement: You will track improvements in agent confidence, tool adoption, and sales performance, providing ongoing support and targeted troubleshooting guidance. You are also responsible for designing and implementing simplified, user-friendly performance assessments that align observed behaviours with appraisal goals, allowing for constructive, continuous feedback. Your coaching should translate directly into measurable improvements in conversion rates, error reduction, and client satisfaction scores.
KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
- Travel Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of FIT, MICE, and Group travel operations, including supplier relationships, booking workflows, and the full client journey from enquiry to return.
- Sales Acumen & Coaching: Proven experience in sales training, negotiation techniques, and behavioural coaching with a track record of improving agent conversion rates.
- Destination & Product Knowledge: Strong grasp of global geography, popular travel destinations, itinerary planning, and the ability to translate product knowledge into compelling sales narratives.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CRM systems, booking portals, and travel technology tools, with the ability to train others to adopt and use them correctly.
- Communication & Storytelling: Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills that make training sessions engaging, memorable, and directly applicable to day-to-day work.
- Process Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex operational processes into clear, user-friendly SOPs and training materials.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience: 5–8 years in the travel industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a dedicated Training, Learning & Development, or Sales Coaching role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Certifications in corporate training or coaching are highly advantageous.
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in improving sales conversions, reducing operational errors, and increasing system adoption through the design and delivery of effective training programmes.
- Language: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Hindi or additional regional languages is a strong advantage given our pan-India operations.
