Visiting Lachen Monastery

Lachen Monastery is also called Ngodub Choling Gompa or Launching Gompa, which is a monastery located in Lachen. The monastery at its early stage was a small hut that was founded back in the year 1858 by Lama Karchen Dorje Drak. Later in the year 1977, the small hut was reconstructed into a monastery with the financial aid of the Sikkim Government. The monastery follows the Nyingma Sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
