The 2550th birthday of Lord Buddha was the day when this Buddha spark was inaugurated. This Buddha park is also known as Tathagata tsal which is located in Ravangla. The colossal statue of Lord Buddha is the main attraction of this park that was built by the Sikkim Government along with the help of the locals, to promote tourism in the state. In the year 2013, the Dalai Lama himself sanctified this park.
The park is surrounded by the majestic Himalayas offering a great view of the Himalayan range consisting of Mt. Kabru, Mt. Siniolchu, Mt Pandim, and Mt. Kanchenjunga. The 130-foot-tall copper Buddha statue in the Bhumisparsha mudra (earth-touching posture) brings tranquility to the surrounding environment. The park also has a museum that illustrates the life of Buddha. There is also a meditation center that is open to both monks and tourists. You can also head to the small curio shops to buy prayer beads, souvenirs, and others.

How to Reach Buddha Park
The Buddha Park is located at a distance of 1.1 km from Ravangla, it will take about 5 minutes to reach the destination. The park is open to the public throughout the week between 9 AM to 5 PM. You can either hire a local taxi or walk up to Buddha Park to witness the stunning scenery within the park.

Best Time to Visit Buddha Park
The best time to visit Budha Park is during “Rabong Discovered”, which is a 5 day festival that consists of a flower show, and dance competitions. Traditional music, food stalls, and local handicraft items. This festival occurs from 8th to 12th April every year. During March and April, you may also spot exotic varieties of orchids.
