Saramsa Garden is the perfect place for you if you are interested in flowers and gardens. This recreation park is aided by the Government of Sikkim which led to the cultivation of a variety of orchids that helped in transforming this recreation park into a lush garden. The orchids are being preserved in a greenhouse to help them bloom in time. The garden was established back in the year 1922 by the then Forest Manager, Bhim Bahadur Pradhan. This garden covers an area of 6 acres and is maintained by the Sikkim Forest Department and Tourism.
In 1940, this garden was used for growing medicinal plants to help in curing people. Most of the plants that can be spotted in this garden were planted between 1975 to 1980. There is also a contemporary convention center in this garden that can accommodate up to 500 persons to spend their time amidst the natural flora as well as spot the water of River Rani flowing through the garden.
