Thakurbari Temple is located at the heart of Gangtok which is due to the tolerant nature of the Chogyals, the kings of the former kingdom. During the rule of the Namgyal dynasty, this temple was built back in the year 1935 and is also one of the oldest temples in Gangtok.

Thakurbari Temple is located in the center of Gangtok at a distance of 170 meters and you can visit the temple by a 5-minute walk. Whereasfrom MG Marg.

It will take about 15 minutes to cover a distance of 2.7 km to reach the temple. The temple is open to the public on all days of the week from 6 AM to 8 PM.
