Folklore
Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple is associated with a belief in the spirit of a patriotic Indian soldier. The story goes that during the Sino-Indian wars while transporting supplies to an army outpost, Harbhajan Singh drowned in a melting glacier.
After searching for the corpse of Harbhajan Singh for days they failed. Later in a dream of Pritam Singh, Harbhajan Singh appeared and his reason for death along with the location of his body. In the memory, he asked for a memorial dedicated to him.
A shrine was then built next to his cremation spot by his regiment Chhokya Cho. The army believes that the spirit of Harbhajan Singh warns the army in their dreams about the attacks planned as well as patrolling the border and ensuring that the posted army stays awake and active in their duties. This has also awarded the spirit of Harbhajan Singh promotions over the past years.
