In 2024, Korean tourism hopes to welcome 200,000 Indian tourists.

Setting its focus on the fast development of the Indian outbound market, the Korean Tourism Organisation announced its participation in the upcoming tourism fairs. KTO plans to send a delegation to upcoming business-to-business travel trade shows in India.

As in the press, KTO alleged that it is gearing up to partake in OTM in Mumbai and SATTE in Greater Noida in the National Capital Region. 

The latest announcement is against Korea’s goal of reaching a record-breaking 20 million foreign visitors by 2024. KTO, well known as Korea Tourism Organisation, has set an aim of welcoming about 200,000 travelers from India in 2024 as stated by the Regional Director, India & SAARC countries, Myong Kil Yun. he said,

With record-breaking 20 million foreign visitors on our horizon for 2024, India holds a special place in Korean’s strategic outreach.

Building on last year’s incredible success of 120,000 Indian visitors, we are setting an ambitious goal for welcoming 200,000 travelers from the country this year “.

Myong Kil Yung emphasized the significance of India in Korea’s tourism plans and highlighted the country’s success in attracting Indian tourists. The previous year also saw a significant milestone, with more than 120,000 Indian travellers enjoying Korea’s attractions.

Yun added,

With their boundless enthusiasm and deep appreciation of K Pop, K drama, K beauty and Korean culture in general, we recognize the tremendous potential of Indian travelers .

Our strategic 2024 in market initiatives will play a crucial role in helping us achieve our ambitious targets and to paint a vibrant picture of Korea’s diverse offerings for these discerning tourists.

These include joint marketing promotions, FAM trips, digital marketing promotions, multi-city roadshows and participation in such prominent industry events“.

KTO is also determined to have a tighter tapestry of B2B partnerships and to make Korea’s must-visit list on the top for Indian travelers’ destination preferences. 

 KTO is also marking its presence with a sizable delegation at the upcoming travel trade shows counting OTM, i.e. Outbound Travel mart in Mumbai, which will be held from 8th to 10th February 2024, along with SATTE, i.e. the 31st edition of South Asia’s Travel and Tourism Exchange that will be held from 22nd to 24th February 2024.

As per KTO, the attendees at the exhibitions will get a chance to have one-on-one meetings with attending delegates who will display Korea’s abundance of offerings like culinary, hallyu, luxury, and MICE, among others.

The delegations there will include key tourism industry stakeholders representing many entities like Destination Management companies, Regional Tourism Organisations and Airlines.
