Direct flight from Mumbai to Srinagar soon as announced by Air Akasa

Akasa Air has recently announced the inclusion of Srinagar into its extensive network and initiated direct flights from Mumbai to Srinagar. This operation will be commenced from 1st March 2024, and with this, Akasa Air will bridge the skies between  Mumbai and Srinagar. 

As per the officials stated during the announcement

“This development marks a significant milestone for Akasa Air as it ventures into the serene landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir, thereby amplifying its domestic presence in the northern region of the country.”

Praveen Iyer, co-founder, and chief Akasa’s commercial officer, commented on the announcement and said

“We are thrilled to announce operations from Srinagar, our 20th destination in the network. Known for its picturesque mountains and enchanting valleys, Srinagar has witnessed an uptick in domestic and international tourism, and our flight launch will further boost economic activity in the region.”

He added that Akasa Air is now in growth mode and has attained a milestone of adding about 20 destinations to their network in just 17 months of operations. It has now become the fastest-growing airline in the history of  Indian aviation. This launch of the operation in Srinagar aligns with Akasa Air’s ethos of offering industry-leading and customer-friendly services. With innovative offerings like Pets on Akasa and the well-known cafe Akasa menu.

The cafe offers onboard meal service and an assortment of healthy and delicious meals, including industry-first options like Kombucha. The airline is working with a commitment to delivering a friendly, warm as well as inclusive travel experience to all its passengers. Akasa has introduced many quality products and services to ensure a comfortable flying experience, as the new aircraft offers ample legroom, USB ports, and high comfort for passengers.

In an effort to make travel inclusive, Akasa Air also introduced safety instructions and onboard menu cards in Braille for people with visual impairment. It was launched in 2022 August and still then Alkasa Air served more than 6.3 million passengers and connected with across 20 countries.
