The fact that roads are built into hills rather than over them, like in Shillong, Meghalaya, makes travelling there more daring. There are several tourist destinations where 95% of visitors are either unaware of their existence or never there. Many are on the list, but I’ll include a few here:

Banjhakri Waterfall (believe me, go there at least once; many tour agents either don’t suggest it or charge extra for it).

Point of Bulbuley View (99% of visitors don’t even know about this location, but believe me—it’s worthwhile.)

Zuluk (If the weather is nice, you will see a ring-shaped road that is breathtakingly gorgeous. 99% of people merely google this location instead of going or not knowing about it.)

Mankhim (View Point) is quite amazing. The farthest spot a car can go is about a 30-minute walk away, but believe me—the trip is worthwhile. You are welcome to spend the night here as well.)

Aritar Lake: A stunning lake with a view of Mankhim shaped like a guitar.

Rishi (a site along a river). You may go and enjoy the river’s flow between the hill and the forest, or you can stay overnight.
