While presenting the UP  budget 2024-25, the UP Finance Minister made significant announcements regarding Noida and Ayodhya, alleging that Asia’s largest airport, Jewar, will open soon. The Noida Airport in the Jewar district of Gautam Buff Nagar district adjoining Dekhu will get direct metro, high-speed rapid rain, as well as the best road connectivity.

Minter Khanna also said that there has been a considerable enhancement in the number of tourists visiting Ayodhya after the grand construction of Ram Mandir. 

To speed up the construction and land acquisition process of South Asia’s Largest Noida International Airport, the government allocated Rs 1150 crore for the upcoming Budget 2024-25. The announcement was made by Suresh Kumar Khanna, Finance Minister of UP, as he tabled the budget for the year in the state assembly on Monday. 

He alleged,

 “A provision of Rs 1,150 crore is proposed for the establishment of an international airport and the purchase of land in Jewar of Gautam Buddha Nagar district.”

The development for phase one of Noida International Airport is underway and is planned to open for commercial operations by the end of 2024. Under phase one, more than 230 acres will be developed, comprising 75 acres, i.e., 33 percent of retail, and 155 acres, i.s. Sixty-seven per cent of industrial area. 

Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said earlier in his speech that with the inauguration of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, four international airports have become functional in the state, and Noida International Airport is going to open soon in UP’s Jewar.

He said,

With this, Uttar Pradesh will become the only state in India to have five international airports.

He also notified that consistent efforts are being made to increase air connectivity in the state and to attain this objection, initiatives are being carried out under the RCS-UDAN scheme, also known as the Regional Connectivity Scheme of the  Centre, and the Civil Aviation Promotion Policy of the State government.

He also added that there has been an overall 19.2 percent increase in air travelers in the present financial year compared to the prior year. The selected airports comprising Moradabad, Azamgarh, Aligarh, Chitrakot, and Shravasti have been developed to increase air connectivity. Also, the development work of airports of Sarsawa, i.e., Saharanpur, and Mayorpur, i.e., Sonbhadra, is in progress.
