UAE Expands Visa-On-Arrival Facility for Indian Nationals in Six More Countries

New Delhi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded its visa-on-arrival program for Indian nationals, now including travelers with valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from six additional countries. This move grants more Indian passport holders the convenience of obtaining a visa upon arrival at UAE entry points.

New Countries Added to the List

Under the updated regulations, Indian citizens holding valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada will now be eligible for the visa-on-arrival facility in the UAE. Previously, this privilege was extended only to Indian nationals with valid documentation from the United States, the United Kingdom, and European Union member states.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the visa-on-arrival program, Indian travelers must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a valid ordinary passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of arrival.
  • Possess a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card from any of the eligible countries.

Eligible travelers must also pay the applicable visa fee upon arrival at UAE immigration checkpoints.

According to Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the UAE’s Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), this initiative aligns with the strong strategic partnership between the UAE and India.

The program aims to streamline travel for Indian nationals, offering them new opportunities to explore life, residency, and employment prospects in the UAE. Additionally, it encourages Indian travelers to experience the UAE’s world-class tourism, economic opportunities, and thriving business environment, further solidifying the country’s position as a global financial and tourism hub.
