100th Aircraft Induction & Expansion

The airline’s 100th aircraft, a Boeing 737-8, features ‘Chittara’ tail art, inspired by Karnataka’s traditional mural paintings. The aircraft was flagged off at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, the airline’s largest hub, by Managing Director Aloke Singh. It then took off on its inaugural flight on the Bengaluru–Hindon route. With Hindon (Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR) now part of its network, Air India Express has become the first airline to operate from two airports in the National Capital Region.

A Rapidly Expanding Airline

Speaking on the milestone, Aloke Singh called it a defining moment for the airline. He highlighted the rapid growth following its privatization, stating:

“In just over three years, we integrated and merged the LCC airlines while expanding with a modern and fuel-efficient fleet. We have built a strong presence in India, focusing on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, which are the emerging economic hotspots. This growth is pivotal in shaping India’s aviation future.”

Since joining the Tata Group in 2022, Air India Express has undergone significant expansion. It has grown from 26 Boeing 737 NGs and 28 A320s to 100 aircraft, reinforcing its position as a key player in the Indian aviation sector.

New Routes & Enhanced Passenger Experience

As part of its growth strategy, Air India Express has introduced new destinations, including Bangkok, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Hindon, Jammu, Patna, Phuket, and Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram).
