This surge also represents an impressive 71.7% increase from 2023, solidifying Malaysia’s status as a preferred destination for Indian travelers.

Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, credited the free visa entry policy introduced in December 2023 for this remarkable growth. “The introduction of free visa entry in December 2023 has proven to be a transformative initiative, driving a significant increase in the number of Indian tourists visiting Malaysia,” he stated. Additionally, the launch of new direct flights by IndiGo Airlines to Penang and Langkawi has further strengthened Malaysia’s appeal, particularly as the country gears up for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
