New Launch Date
Noida International Airport, also called Jewar Airport, will initially operate with 30 flights, connecting both domestic and international destinations.
Promoted as Asia’s largest airport, it will span 7,200 acres upon completion, with plans for up to six runways.
Located in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, it aims to link major nearby cities such as Agra and Mathura with the global aviation network.
IndiGo and Akasa Air are in talks with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to establish domestic and international routes from the airport.
The airport plans to operate one cargo flight daily, aiming to bolster trade and logistics connectivity in the region.
Scheduled international destinations include Zurich, Singapore, and Dubai, while domestic routes will connect to cities like Lucknow, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
Once fully operational, it will handle 65 daily flights, with a mix of 62 domestic, two international, and one cargo route.
The completed airport is projected to accommodate 12 million passengers annually, support 1,00,000 flights, and manage 2,50,000 tonnes of cargo.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation in November 2021, with long-term plans involving a multi-phase expansion over a dedicated 13,000-acre area.
